San Diego Daily Dive Reports

Water temp: 62-64

Looks like things are clearing up! Good reports yesterday from the Cove of around 20' visibility...there are still some pockets of red tide hanging around but it's clearing up nicely

Visibility: 0-10' in the shallows due to red tide, 10-20' once you get below the layer (maybe around 30' deep)

Surf: 1-3 feet

Water temp: 62-64

Red tide is still making things tricky. Lots of areas have the bloom within the first 15-30' of depth, and visibility is extremely low in those areas. Once deep enough it clears up to 10-20' visibility or so. There are areas without red tide so take a look from shore before you hop in

There are still some pockets of red tide floating around out there, in some areas the surface layer might be pretty gloomy but things will open up around 20' or so...really hard to say. Last reports said the shores were good, the cove was pretty murky, and the Point Loma kelp was murky to 15' deep and then opened up to about 15-20' visibility below that. Conditions seem to be on the rise though and it looks like it'll be a great day outside!

Happy World Oceans Day! Red tide seems to be dissipating and the La Jolla region is clearing up nicely, though there still are some murkier pockets. Reports showed the cove as being affected by the bloom while the shores are clearing up. Expect to see 10-15 foot visibility in the shallows, 15-20 foot at depth

WOOHOO!! Looks like the red tide is finally gone, or at least backing off significantly! Reports of 10-15' viz in the shallows at the shores, and 20-25 down in the canyon. The cove still has a little bit of red tide but still not as bad as it was last week!

Red tide is still out there, especially in La Jolla. Maybe 5' viz in the shallows, if you make it down deeper it opens up to about 15 feet in the canyon.

Red tide is making La Jolla pretty awful. Pretty much a night dive until you get down to about 90 feet. Other areas are marginally better but not by a whole lot

Visibility: 5-15 feet at depth, 0-10 in the shallows

Surf:  2-3 feet

Water temp: 61-63

Things are not looking too great in the shallows since we have a red tide bloom in the water right now. That clears up with some depth, maybe around 30 feet, and then visibility is closer to the 10-15 foot range. We'll be out there though, come find our tent at Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores and come say hi! We're usually diving in the morning and then on land hanging out starting at around 11:30. We'll have food and we'd love to see you!

Red tide is clouding thins up pretty bad right now. At depth it clears up to 15' or so though
